Flippin' 'eck, there's some big numbers on this page, so not really a DIY job unless you wanna drop a four figure sum on software!

The software used isn't like VCDS and very few people have access to it. I'm also lead to believe the unit needs to link with Germany to verify mileage?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

From 07 onwards the VW's need link to Wolfburg, but there's some few people able to do it anyway, one person inhere should be able to, can't remember his name though  :sad1:

Ive got vag commander and can do up to 972 clusters.........
2004 Golf 5dr TDI, 140 remap, GTI front bumper, skirts, highline cluster, 18in wheels, jamax coilovers, winter pack

The front of the midline I have looks like this.



Ive bought a highline cluster(thanks raz  :happy2: ) which is all plastic. Is the front facia easy to swap over as I quite like the look of the mid-line facia?

No problem mate :)

Look at the clips on the midline and highline cluster. see it the clips match in the same position then it should fit.

got my 973b clocks fitted in my 07 tdi yesterday....
only major issue that i can see is whether you have VDO or Visteon which seem to be harder to rewrite...
anyway kalu can sort them out...
