Awrite Steven, where about are you, cumnock? Quite sure the golf will be a good daily for you, shld map fine to 140bhp if power is what you are moddin. Get it bought and concentrate on the rs. Do you know Alan Fulton from kilmarnock ford mk1 rs? Stevie (Ayrshire).  :happy2:

Hi Steven,

Dont be put off by the low stock figure of 105hp and 200ft/lb, we consistently achieve high gains with no reliability issues with our stg2 map:

http://www.dyno-tuning.co.uk/gallery/audiA3-19.htm

and stage 1 isn't too shabby either:

http://www.dyno-tuning.co.uk/gallery/vwGolfMk5TDI.htm

and with a stronger clutch (or fit entire 6spd box and clutch from a pd 130) and decat downpipe the stock engine will see 165+hp and 300 ft/lb with a custom map.

That's very impressive.didn't expect gains like that.not looking for crazy horse power but just some extra punch for over taking etc.

If I'd buy a used Golf TDI and I want more power I would definitely go for a 2.0 TDI and leave it stock.
Imho it's absultely stupid to buy a 1.9 with it's small turbo. It will never reach more than 125 bhp with
the stock turbo and the small clutch won't last for long.

just my 2 Cents
