reversing mirror

i have folding lights and puddle lights etc however the left one doesnt go down when i put it in reverse.

is it broken? or not equipped?, if not equipped what do i need to do to get it going?

What year gti and do you have rear sensors?

Like you I am slightly puzzled ! I have a 2006 Gti  fitted with factory reversing sensors,folding puddle lights,highline and auto dimming mirror etc etc and mine don't activate when reverse is selected.I think this must of been fitted on later models ????

to have this feature you need a mirror with memory function and a suitable GEN3 door controller. Golfman and MortyGttdi have done this to their cars

You have to make sure your  mirror switch is selected for the left hand mirror or it won't work
