Romany's Red Rocket.

Just very recently picked up my gti in tornado red. It is a 5dr manual with leather interior.





Its all pretty standard apart from the charleston alloys that Ive put on there.

The next few mods lined up will just be mild ones for now, all cosmetic.  :signLOL:

Couple of minor things done so far-

- changed my dv to revision d. (should be 30min job, took me a couple of hours  :ashamed:. Have to be worlds best gymnast to get to the thing)
- gti seat inserts courtesy of Mandy.

Coming up-

- boot pop mod, got parts on order.
- Osir front splitter.
- colour code side skirts and rear bumper valance.

Dropped my car off this morning to my mates garage, spent basically the whole day sanding down the side skirts and rear bumper ready to be primed- If the finish looks crap it'll be my fault  :grin:, hopefully have the car back Saturday afternoon. Then, hopefully fit my parts for the boot pop mod and kindly ask VRStu to code it in for me.
Still debating whether to have the Osir front lip fitted, bought that before the car lol, insurance says no though so will prob have to wait until next year. just so tempting.  :sad1:

Cheers! Redrobin has the same splitter I believe. Looks like this-



It comes in 4 parts, two bits to make up the sides (red parts), 2 middle (black) sections- they are different shapes so you can change them to whichever look you want.

Recently got my car back from the spray shop. Very happy with it overall, but the Osir splitter didn't fit as well I would have liked though.
Originally I wanted the middle section of the splitter done in gloss black to match the rear, but body shop got confused so now it's red.

Any opinions on whether I should have the middle section done in gloss black or leave it red as it is?
Dont want to breach any of robin's 'copyright' laws etc.  :grin:

....I used to have the same problem. Bring your camera to JKM's Dyno-Day and I'll see if I can solve it for you.  :happy2:

....It's not uncommon for OSIR stuff to have fit issues.

Personally I'd do the middle section gloss black to match both front grill surround and the rear exhaust trim. But it's whatever you like best which matters most.  :happy2:

Decided that I didn't like the red centre section on the front lip so had a go at spraying it myself with some gloss black spray.





Happier with it now.  :jumpmove:
