« on: August 20, 2011, 11:04:50 am »
What are members thoughts on this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230660785833?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I want it more for cosmetic reasons as I have fitted a GTi valance to my GT.

Thanks matey, can you elaborate on that?  What was the problem, performance gains, build quality, fitment issues?  The later is my biggest concern tbh.

from memory, most of the issues were to do with quality.  their items do seem good value...until they arrive...allegedly in case their lawyers are reading this!!  :P

I have trolled through their feedback and regarding exhausts it's nearly all positive.  I'm watching one currently that is open bidding and it's only upto £22 if I could get it for under 100 quid I think that will represent a bargain....?

well i agree it would seem a bargain at that sort of price.  like i said, i am only going on what others have said and like all forums, generally it is the negative stuff that takes prominence.

I hear you pal, like reviews really, people only tend to bother writing one if they have a bad experience.

The tips on the one in the link look good to me!  Although my current setup looks ok, its only a temporary measure.  Basically my mechanic has welded an extension pipe on to the OE back box then added a bridging piece to create a double outlet.  Then I have a couple of nice tips fitted, its fully functional but not perfect.

I have a few systems in stock from the same manufacturer (made in china, sold super cheap to the trade for bulk orders) bought them as a test to see the quality.

They have never been sold as the quality just isn't acceptable. I gave one away as a freebie to an owner of an Evo 9 that was in for a dyno test, it lasted 4-5 weeks before the innards of the silencers fell apart and rattled, then the wadding was being blown out of the exhaust, in the dark it looked like sparks flying out of the tailpipe!

If you want looks, try a local exhaust manufacturer as they will remove the old tips from your stock system and replace with something more attractive.

If you have one to fit the mk5 I'll have it for postage costs?!  :drinking:
