What air filter?

Standard GTi...should i just pop a panel filter in or is it actually worth going for CAI type?  Would like to improve the breathing and get some induction roar too  :laugh:.  i had a K&N 57i on a Honda CRX many, many years ago and to be honest it didn't feel or sound any different. 

any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Forge Twintake is the one I have. There's one for sale on here, £260. Obviously people will recommend whatever one they have. The ITG is highly regarded to and there's a group buy ongoing for these  :happy2:

Panel filter wise, VWR do one at £96 inc. VAT and it claims reasonable performance returns for what it is. I'm going to try it on my Ed30 soon. However, I would imagine a lot of the chaps on here would recommend the CAI type and as above the twin intake by Forge. If you go down the CAI route have a look at the EVOMS set up, it's on the regal motorsport website I believe.

For a standard gti I would use an ITG panel filter...

have gone for a good old K&N panel in the end.

I added a Piper X panel filter to my standard vRS and the result.........zip!  Then added and EVOMs and it felt quciker, throttle response was improved and it sounds awesome, then when I went to stage one it all got even better, next step dp and stage 2. :happy2:

Roger that, the V-Flow induction kit, I manged to get one off eBay, it had only covered 2k, and included everything below plus the replacement heat shield and engine cover.  £180 delivered......... :surprised:

Pagey, does that mean you have a spare heatshield? as in the bit that surrounds the cone?

Sorry mate no, the heat shield bolts in underneath the pipe at the rear of the engine to reduce the heat from the exhaust.  Tbh, I have seen DIY filter boxes made from stiff foam similiar to what is used on the ITG system which have been very good..........I'v also seen some abortions!  :laugh:

the EVOMS kit looks good...maybe, at some point in the future.

I remember when drilled airboxes were the thing to do...almost like a DIY induction kit...sort of!  certainly increases the induction roar!  :grin:
