All the info for the Mk 5 platform is here in this thread, no one has tried these on here that i know of.  :happy2: I have been considering Ohlins for my Exige, there is plenty of info for the Lotus platform as the have been making  lotus kits for a while, it's all track based though, and as Tony Danza says a refurb and resealing needs doing depending on spec and application.
From what i have read about them they are more consistent when tested on a dyno compared to other top end aftermarket suspensions but also suffer from plenty of problems as well.
This kit that MR Gobble is on about just sounds like an upgrade to the standard set up, probably very nice for the roads.  :popcornsoda:

That looks to be an awesome setup! We can sell the Ohlins stuff but haven't got around to listing them on the site yet. How do you find them?

Sadly it's no my car, but I'd really like to have these.
Not the H2sport coilover kit but just the Öhlins dampers + VW driver gear springs.

The biggest concern most people have with the Öhlins Road & Track is it's "just"
a set of dampers and the price is hard to understand.

Quite tempted to launch the B12's for some of these. The thought of some high(er) quality damping and compliance is really very appealing.

Seeing McGuiness across the Mountain section at very high speed presumably damped by Ohlins makes me dream of damping like that in the Ed. Unlikely I know.

That said it's a bit of a punt into the unknown for 1,595 Euros, whatever that works out to in pounds and pennies.

Perhaps we should invite Chris Harris (Pistonheads) to test them, as he's an advocate of quality suspension/ride quality, after fitting that Exe-tc kit to his 2007 997 GT3, when he had that, prior to the GT3 RS 4.0, prior to the current 599.

And the cost of that kit made 1500 Euros look like a bargain..

Berhard, don't get me wrong, but I'm able to ''test'' them on myself.
Just give me the 1600 Euros or a GTI equipped with these Öhlins.

Even better two otherwise identical GTI: One with Öhlins + Eibach Pro springs
and one with a Bilstein B12 Pro. So same springs, but different dampers and a
short track + 2D gear.

Couldn't find any servicing intervals and costs. They seem to service them at the Nurburgring facility and there's a price list on their website but no R&T there, only the more expensive dampers there !

...not forgetting Monroe who along with Ohlins are two of the best suspension companies or so I have been told.

I suppose if you want a comfortable road car, but be compliant on a race track, perhaps get something like an electronic shock that adjusts itself - continuously controlled electronic suspension from Monroe.  I had a similar setup on my last two cars, whereby you change the damping from comfort to sport or advanced at a touch of a button - it worked fantastically.

Owners manual states the following Recommended service intervals,
Racing: Every 10 hours of operation, Maximum 20 hours of operation without service and oil change.
Regular street use: Every 30,000Km
Ohlins centre I bought mine from quoted me £95 + vat for a full rebuild/re-valve service.

Best mod ever.
Fuscobal, buy them, once you have got over the mental hurdle of the initial price, you wont regret it, they are that good, my advice is have a good bottle of ......(insert preferred beverage) first then get them ordered :happy2:
Can't comment about track use as mine will never see a track, but for bumpy B road/country lane journeys around leafy Bucks it's the most composed car I have ever owned, The GTI is So much more relaxing to drive swiftly and ironically more safely now.

I will order them in January, just wanted to have all the info before. Is the £95 for one corner only or all 4 corners ? What do they mean by service without oil change ? I thought the only service needed is the one at 30.000km that requires the oil change and revalving. I will not be doing 30.000km too soon but 10-20hrs on the track is not much  :sad1:

Not sure, I presumed £95 per shocker.
Don't know what service without oil change means, doesn't say, However, it does mention Racing, which without wanting to be dis-respectful actual racing situations are a lot more punishing than track days. With Ohlins tradition their definition of "Racing" would be more akin to say seb loeb giving it maximum attack for 10 hrs, and bear in mind its not his personal hard earned cash spent on the car, so your max and his are a mile apart if you get my drift.
Sorry if that sounds rude, wasn't meant to be, best example I could think of :happy2:

No problem mate, any info on these babies is welcome. I plan on pairing them with Vorshlag camberplates and I'm also trying to find out if Ohlins can provide them with stiffer springs (revalved of-course). If not, maybe revalving from new at the quoted price and purchasing stiffer springs from Swift for example !
