Lovely that mate

I love subtle touches.

Do you have a part Nr for the jacking points?  Assuming it will be the same on the Leon

Part numbers for S3 Jacking points as follows:

8P0 802 845 - Front Left Jack Pad - 1 of required
8P0 802 846 - Front Right Jack Pad - 1 of required
8N0 804 583 - Rubber Buffers - 4 of required
8P0 802 847 - Plastic Jack Pad Plugs - 2 of required

Hopefully someone else can confirm if they are the same on the leon but to be honest I can't see why not. Soo much easier jacking the car up and safer too.

Can you tell me how you got hold of your number plaque please?

I know there is a whole topic on the number plaque but I would like to double check with you to make sure it's still same.

Thanks

Dan

Well considering how difficult and long it took to get my plaque from VW when I had the 25th Anniversary I was expecting to have to 1. Fight for it and 2. Wait a long time. Now to my surprise it was an absolute doddle. Here are the steps I took.

1. Rang VW customer service to request my plaque on a Thursday
2. Car reg was taken and I was advised that they would need to cheque that the car hadn't already had one assigned and sent out previously and that I would get a call on the following Monday.
3. Sure enough call came and I was advised that the plaque would be sent out via special delivery to my home address.
4. Wednesday plaque arrives and i'm a happy bunny  :happy2:

When you got there to vw customer service, did you speak to anyone in particular?

What kind of adhesive did you use for the seat inserts? Car looks mint.
thanks

Dan

No mate didn't speak to anyone in particular. The girl who answered knew what I was talking about but then requested a callback for me.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys. High temperature paint turned up today so hopefully tomorrow I can get the hubs painted then wheels back on over the weekend. Might have to wait though as i'm off to Zante on Monday.

With regards to the seat inserts I actually got mine off the bay. Just used sticky pads to stick them down rather than superglue as if I ever want to remove them that will be much easier than superglue. Did use superglue for the red lettering though.

Back from a heavy week in Zante now and thought right I need to get the wheels on. Just before going though I did manage to clean the exhaust and paint all 4 wheel hubs.

First job was the wheel hubs. This took me a good 5 hours as I had to give each hub 2 coats of paint allowing 30 minutes in between coats. When you only have 1 decent jack (not including the rubbish scissor jack that comes with the car) and no axle stands it proved a time consuming job. Anyway I don't have any before pics but I'm sure you can all picture the surface rust that builds up on them almost instantly.

Here is a shot after I had finished painting but still has all the masking tape on.

Then I decided to clean up the exhaust and leave the wheels until I got back off holiday. Here are the before pics, and as you can see the pipes were looking a little sorry for themselves. I used Autosol metal polish which was great stuff.

During cleaning

Finally after lots of elbow grease and some assistance from a trusty dremmel here are the results

Now I landed home at 15:30 went straight home dumped my suitcase and got straight to work on putting my freshly refurbished wheels on. These were done by a company called aerocoat and I am extremely pleased with the result. Hope you like

Great work on the tailpipes! I managed one, it's still not brilliant.  The other is laughing at me.
