Lowering springs or coilovers?
« on: August 16, 2011, 09:24:05 am »
I know this has been asked a few times but i cant seem to find a definate answer on other posts.

Im looking to either have H&R lowering sping and WALK fitted,

or

AP coilovers.

the car is a KO3 GTI with DSG. im looking to do some performance mods aswell but am going to get the suspension sorted first. What set up do people think i should go for?

If you just want a decent stance and aren't really fussed about adjustability then go for the springs.

If you are wanting to track the car, lower it for shows and lift it up for the road, then you need the coilovers.

Either way I'd still get the WALK fitted. :happy2:
Golf R gone.

Ive been thinking the same things Andy (also think I pasted you on white rose lane the other Friday?)

I have been thinking some coil-overs having been out in a ED30 fitted with AP the ride felt very good flat in cornering but nice and compliant over the bumps!

(also what happened to selling the car due to Mileage?  glad to see your keeping it)

5Dr Black GTI, DSG, Leather, Xenons. Retrofitted - Cruise, RNS 510, MFSW, Armrest, Skoda BT, 6cd changer, Monza II's, VW speaker upgrade kit, Lux pack, High-line, new CAN gateway, Polar FIS info display, R32 tinted rear lights, RVC

To Come...NQSBBK, highline CCM.

Thanks.

looking to get a few track days in it so coilovers is probably the route i will take. + WALK.

Rich: Dont think that was me on friday. Unless my dad took it for a cheaky spin  :driver:

Yes decided to keep it. Had to take my sister to Gatwick and came home down all the country lanes round the back of dorking and over that way. Fell in love with it and decided although its done a few miles now it drives perfectly  :happy2:

Need to sort out another woking meet. I assume it was DomT's car you have been in, i owe him a drink so will have to try and get a ride in his car.
