Black VW Grille Badge
« on: August 07, 2011, 11:25:16 am »
Been looking for one of these for my car...Eurowagens must be out of stock and struggling to find anywhere other than ebay and i am not to sure about the one i have seen on there as the photo doesnt appear to show the clips on the badge.  any suggestions/links please?  also, stupid question time...but...does the emblem need to be matt or gloss finish to match the rest of the standard grille...i cant seem to work this out!

I got mine from dubstop.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

This emblem is very rare and only to get in Germany.

There is no black VW badge you can order at Volkswagen, not even in Germany.

As above, they are either wrapped or painted. If you want, you can get some matte vinyl wrap and wrap your own badge.

I vinyl wrapped mine. Painting won't last for long.

If you do it remove the chrome part from the plastic carrier before.

just the standard grille...still not sure if it's matt or a gloss finish.

ok...i am open to the suggestion of wrapping, although it does look a complex shape to do.  any links to the process and the product with which to wrap it please?

Your grill will be matt black. Mines matt black and matches fine. Will upload a pic later.
I just removed rear badge as clipped on and sprayed this myself.

Front badge i got off ebay. Seems like its been made black and not painted or anything. Has the clips etc. Was just off a seller though, someone who had it on their golf.

I sprayed mine Matt black with plasti dip. If you change your mind just peel it off. It sets like rubber and doesn't chip.
