I did, and the GTi brakes are shocking compared, but that would have had bigger rear brakes and four wheel engine braking, but is heavier, so trying to imagine... trying to decideed whether to keep and fit or sell... :signLOL:

Just had a look at your r32 thread, very very nice !
Ive test driven a cupra before and the brakes are pretty good when paired to the 2.0tfsi cars, plenty power but youl aready know that having came from an r32,
Brakes have got to be one of the first mods on the gti they are feckin horrible !

so what's the deal with the standard gti brakes?  apart from some grabbiness, i think theyre pretty good for the power the car packs.

Standard brakes are weak. The r32 setup  is much much better suited to the power, and potential power of the GTI.

:ashamed:  you might have a point

considering my last car was a mental 300bhp impreza sti, i still think the standard gti brakes, for the standard power output arent that bad to be honest.  mind you i havent used them in anger yet, but they do the job.

I just think there is very little power in them even for a standard GTI, yea sure i can lock them up but the effort you need to put in is far to much if you are caught unaware, also because you need to apply so much pressure to the pedal on the standard setup this takes away quite a bit of feel and i think it makes for quite loose and unpredictable braking, the bigger S3, r32, cupra set up is pretty powerful and didnt really loose anything power wise to the 4 pot APs i had, although the stroke and progressive pedal feel of the APs were perfect,
