If approved by the insurer you may be able to choose the repairer.

When some tart reversed into my car neither of the 1st 2 repairers suited me as they couldn't do within the time constraints I had.  I told them I wanted it done at garage I use regularly (Statlers) and they were fine with it.

The insurer paying out (the third party's insurance) was Tesco.

If it's the one on Lifford Lane, Kings Norton then I've used them.  My work's van got repaired there.  Did a good job of repairing the bodywork but they put the van through the car wash without taking the aerials off and snapped them both and then denied any knowledge.

If approved by the insurer you may be able to choose the repairer.

You can always choose your repairer. You don't need to get multiple quotes or shop around. Insurance companies can suggest their 'approved' repairer, but have no power over where you choose to have your vehicle repaired.
