The GTi section would require a backbox......
The eBay ones do not, they're like the R-Line one without the cut out.

I'm in the same boat mate, I have a nice pair of chrome trims that my mechanic will be fitting with some jiggery pokery, until I source a back box, apparently the 1.4 Tsi exhaust is the same, and some of the mk6 ones.

What about a custom back box? I had mine fitted at MIJ performance £150 fitted and personally think it looks better than the standard GTI exhaust and also has a lifetime guarantee. Mine is a GT TDI with the GTI rear bumper. Not the best puc but it's all I have right now
