Dbilas Fitted - But...
« on: August 23, 2011, 09:41:20 pm »
... But is it on properly?! I wanted to make sure as the surface edge of the intake doesn't line up with the grill hole (like the OEM one did) perfectly.
The intake came off of a K1 Cupra - have I missed the fact that amendments need to be made or is it sitting correctly for a k03 GTI?

Also I've not got anything like the inducted' sound I was expecting and had heard/seen on youtube. The videos weren't great examples but I know cutting out the OEM intake pipes means I should get a rawrer' sound?

Thanks.
Pete

The Dbilas was my 1st proper inlet and was the quietest, not as much sucking or chatter as the Itg.

Looks like it will het plenty of air where it is from what I can make out on the pics

Thanks Mike  :happy2:

I agree. I intentionally wanted quiet chatter/woosh when the DV releases, but I thought it would add induction on the air sucking when accelerating?
If not, guess it's back to the intake drawing board as I want something more aggressive on the gas, without attention grabbing turbo sounds  :popcornsoda:

Ditch the lawnmower sized airfilter and stupidly heavy airbox and replace it with a Pipercross filter, sounds better, much better airflow and saves weight, all for £40. Difference in powrr at stg1 or above is considerable also.

I did browse your hybrid thread  :happy2:

Would it give me the inducted sound I'm looking for and can I run a chopped engine cover with it? - Looks like the PC filter overlaps ever so slightly more.
