Help on tyre problem

I have one tyre at 2 mm so need to change it and noticed a split in tyre wall so needs changing soon . All other three are at 5mm . Decided to go with two new ones at front same make as rears . Just went out to check I ordered same tyres as rears and noticed one of the rears on the same side as the front tyre with a split has a sidewall split too so looks like all four now need changing . Question is how bad is a sidewall split ? If it's not too deep can I get away with keeping rears ? Any thoughts ? Thanks

I remember hitting a pot hole last week on drivers side so maybe this split both tyres

best to change them to be on the safe side u don't want to have a blow out when driving. Any splits or bulges on a sidewall i think are a M.O.T failure

Yes best get four new tyres , not worth the risk

Totally. If you fit falkens on the front of a GTI you might as well remove the steering wheel too!  :signLOL:

From the experience of friends with those tyres, I'd say that they're cheap for a reason. Okay in the dry, but a sniff of moisture, and they are worse than average.

Read about a 100 reviews on them and they seem ok. Plus I asked event what shall I buy these or vreds setantas that were 150 quid more and he said falkens which suprised me as I would assume they would want more cash off me.

He said vreds dont come up that often so if you have a puncture etc getting a replacement can be hard, so I went for falkens.

So stop winding me up you lot and stick to your remoulds  :rolleye:

I would have that if only I could get it fitted to my car, I have a 2005MY and I am told its a pain .
