Lower arm bushes/alignment
« on: August 22, 2011, 10:29:46 pm »
Hi,

I have recently replaced the front lower arm bushes on my gt diesel for powerflex ones. The squeaking noises have now gone and the car feels much more solid on the front end.

My question is when I removed the rear console bushes I marked them so they would go back in exactly the same position. However now the steering wheel is to the left when going straight.

I assume that the old bushes had worn and now new bushes are fitted its changed the alignment.

Is there any procedure or measurements for getting the console bush housings in the correct position? There is quite a bit of adjustment to be had by moving the housing.

Am I right in thinking I should be measuring from a fixed point on the car to ensure both housings are in the same position before going for an alignment somewhere?

Anyone recommend a place for alignment reasonably priced that do a good job around Canterbury, Kent?

Thanks
