Mounting German Pressed Plates
« on: August 26, 2011, 03:02:16 pm »
Hey guys, how are you mounting these plates on? Specifically the front number plate.

On my brothers cars it keeps coming off the front (Audi S3), we used double sided sticky tape all around the edges but it won't hold for more than a few days. Drilling it in is an option but I don't think it will look as good.

Thanks

I use double sided velcro (says outdoor on packet) says holds 15Kg has held plates on thru rain, snow, jet wash etc  :happy2:

From halfords, the stuff people stick subwoofers down with?

Numberplate sticky pads from halford
they stick instantly and are very strong, ive used em for ages and never had a problem !

Some pressed plates are double skinned so you cant drill them, if you do they will dent and deform, it just depends what seller you use, the dubmeister ones are the best road legal pressed plates ive had so far !

Yep they're dubmeister ones. We used the Halfords one but the front keeps coming off because the plate has to bend a lot.
