ko3 Stage 2+ with oem intake

Any one on here running a stage 2+ car with out a Induction kit? I'm after people's opinions on this as I'm really going of the noise of my k&n intake. I'm really considering putting OEM intake back on car.

Will there be a big drop in performance?

An intake is a requirement on stage 2+, if you went back to oem intake then I'd guess you may have to go back to stage 2 software? I'm on stage 2 at the moment with oem intake and it runs fine, but obviously an aftermarket intake would see an increase in figures.

I run mine without an intake using an OE air filter, no probs at all but worth noting that power maybe slightly reduced.

On a Ko3 you dont need a intake for 2+ i never had one for the first 3 months of 2+. you will how ever be down on power quite a bit. it was the last piece in the jigsaw for me and it felt like it gave about 25 BHP a noticeable difference for sure.   :happy2:

i wouldnt recomend going back the way , as the oem box sits ontop of the engine ( stupid design ) it draws in more heat causeing higher intake temps = going slower

As TC says you can do it. You will just be down on power a fair bit. You can run Stage 2+ with just software and a HPFP and no other mods if you really wanted to. You would just be losing power and would have to have conservative settings.

I ran my ED30 with Revo 2+ with a piper cross panel properly logged running 9-5-9 settings.

All running nicely with no issues and low timing pull.

But.......very much down on power, I would say by at least 30bhp!

The only advantage, which is what I wanted, is that it calmed it down quite nicely.

I would safely assume that an OEM filter would cause not many issues as it's hardly any different to a Piper Cross.

There is no issues though as long as it's logged properly.

I'm now using a Forge Twintake and it's, in my opinion, slightly quieter than the BDM I had but with a nice growl at the top end.
