Front tow eye
« on: August 25, 2011, 12:54:30 pm »
Hi there was just wondering if your able to get the front tow eyes like you do on other cars with the small coloured strap, to fit a mk5 gti?

I ask this because after spending all day trying to move my brother car. Which has no front tow eye( massive intercooler) I want to get one so I know that it's possible to tow it if I ever need too!

+ they look kinda cool  :ashamed:

I have a TRS red tow strap.  Not fitted yet, keep meaning to buy a small m12 reverse thread bolt....

About 10 - 15 quid on ebay or demon tweeks  :happy2:

Seen a few of these, mostly on show cars, you can cut a small slot in your honeycomb grille to push this through.
Look cool, and very useful too.

Seen a few of these, mostly on show cars, you can buy my Gti open fog grills and cut a small slot in your honeycomb grille to push this through.
Look cool, and very useful too.

Fixed that for you Al

Joe.

You don't need open fogs nope, you can cut a small slit in your currents.

I had a yellow one for my twingo, still got it in fact I think! Great quality I'm getting a red on but unsure on the bolt length I need to fit it?

what i as thinking was getting longer bolt then, putting another bolt hind the strap to kinda lock it in place and out awau from the bumper to prevent any damage when used for towing.
