Ouch. Dear. Was talking with Neil about te JB4 yesterday, reckons its got some really neat features with the canbus interface. You can even open the exhaust flaps via the steering wheel controls.

Theres an orange 1M on there with the M3 gts wing and it looks amazing  would prefer it in white though.

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=597664

Is there a massive difference between the 1m and the 135i or is just a couple of tweeks here and there?
Engine wise - next to nothing, other than a few extra cooling parts.
Suspension wise  - It shares a lot of the M3's running gear, so quite a bit different..

Just a shame (for me) that they don't have a DCT option  :sad1: If they had then I would of taken a serious look at getting in to organised crime..

Theres 2 methods of using boxes, a tuning box (goes inline between ecu and engine and alters signals to trick the engine into making power) and map switching units.

Personally I dont like either, ive never had a single 135i or 335i react similarly to the same changes to thir map, they seem extremely individual with lofs of different software versions and I can only really tell if a map is going o be good by dyno tuning and testing. Gains can be brilliant, even on a stock car:

http://www.sedox-performance.co.uk/projects/ (choose bmw and 135i to view dyno graph)

And same software on an identical car did this:

http://www.sedox-performance.co.uk/dynoGraphs/BMW/1-series%20E81,%20E82,%20E87,%20E88/135i%20306Hp%20400Nm.htm

So i feel the only way to tune these accurately is by dyno tuning. Fuel makes a big differebce as well, a stock car makes 285ish on 95ron and 305hp on 99ron.

Sorry to ask a practi-boring question lads. Serious one though;

With the back seats down, could you clamber your average mountain bike into the boot and seat it comfortably in the 1 series coupe?
My mate was round in a 60 plate Scirocco about 30 minutes ago and the load space in that is terrible with the high lip, even without the parcel shelf in place it's like an envelope.

Is the 1 series better in that department? Ta.

Really like the new hatch personally. I could see myself in one of them, but more practical than the coupe. Although not as good looking. I dont like the current generation shape.

I think for me it's a case of what could have been, but I guess that's been the story with BMW for a long time now. A small, quick BMW hatch, it should be beautiful but aggressive, not gawky and disproportioned.

Hmm.. it's certainly long enough to take it, as I had a back bumper in there the other day. You'd probably be taking wheels off to get it through the small aperture though.

This is what they look like from the inside.
