Hybrid Bike.....Which one for £1000.....Or Hardtail Mountain
« on: August 26, 2011, 11:56:06 am »
As the title says i am about to get a new Hybrid and quite fancy the Boardman Pro for £999.99 and wonder what others would have. Don't need a Hard Tail Mountain bike but quite like the look of some......especially the Moda Encore....one near me is £1799 but i can't justify the outlay
Any advice welcome........its just for commuting really.

also seen a Scott Scale 35...gone off the Hybrid really !

Whats the place to get one from and what do you guys suggest ?

Look at Cubes! Far higher spec for the price compared to other brands.

If its for a Cycle 2 Work scheme, wait till they announce their 2012 range soon. I've got a 2011 Cube Ltd Team. Fantastic bike. But a hardtail mtb. I will be getting a new bike for 2012 out the new range.  :happy2:

I would not worry too much about the spec of the bike, the key is the frame. Cube and other brands like them would be ok for occasional road rides but for anything more i would look else where
Candy White Edition 30 DSG
Revo Stage 2+
ITG, BCS TBE, Autotech HPFP
WALK
R32 Brake upgrade

My wife has a Boardman Comp Hybrid and she loves it, I bought it for her about 4 years ago and it's been great! :happy2:

You would be hard pressed to find a lighter, faster, better specced bike than this for £899

http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/CBPXSLPFB/planet-x-pro-carbon-rival-hybrid-bike

You could use the extra 101 to buy some nice clothing/accessories

And if you get into your riding a bit more then it would be easy to add a drop handlebar and regular shifters.
