Can anyone confirm the correct part numbet for the GTi headlight (black insert).  I think it's 1K6 941 005/6 AA.

I have found this part number but with different final characters which are grey or chrome inners.......

The GTI ones are 1K6 941 005/6 T and they are Black/Chrome

Doh!!!  I just got one off ebay with the part number I list above, from the picture I wasn't 100% sure if the inserts were grey or black, I did message the seller to confirm, but he didn't get back to me before the auction ended so I took a gamble, got it for £30 including postage so if it is correct happy days.........

Pagey that part number on ETKA says for left hand drive only although it is a black/chrome one? so I would make sure with the seller before he send it that it did come from where he said it did???

Oh bloody hell, I have just checked the auction and it says it has come off a 57 reg car, not that this means anything so I have messaged him.  If it comes, how will I know if its for left hand drive?

There is also another part number on the unit - 1LG 247 007-16.........

I'm beginning to feel slightly better about this as I have found 4 headlights on ebay which are for RHD cars but give 1K6 941 005 AA and 1K6 941 006 AA as the OEM part number equivilents.

Yeh ETKA might be a bit confusing sometimes, It says for Left hand traffic only but I think it actually means the flowing traffic is on the left i.e your on the left so the lights will be facing the left which is right for the uk if you get what I mean

The seller just messaged back and said the light was removed from a RHD 57 plate Golf GT Tsi, so I think I'm ok........

Sorry to bump an old thread but do the part numbers differ from left side unit to right side unit - is 1k6 941 005a for left and 1k6 941 006a for right or vice versa or does either part number denote a Gti unit (dark insert)?

Correct mate, one is left and the other right, and iirc that is the part numbers for the GTi (black insert) lamps.  I would keep an eye on eBay mate, I purchased lights from separate sellers and paid a little over 50 sheets for the pair.
