Happy Birthday to me... Recommend a pair of buckets please :)
« on: September 11, 2011, 04:05:08 pm »

Hi guys,

Birthday is approaching...

Think decent rain repellant, New interior mats & a pair of detailing buckets are on the list :)

After some recommendations of a pair of sturdy detailing buckets with grit guards, that don't cost the earth...  :happy2:

Thanks in advance  :drinking:

I suppose it depends on what you call expensive  :signLOL:

:signLOL:  i've spent daft money on subtle things (£80 sidelights?  :stupid:) and would proabably happily continue to but with my Son due in Nov I have to tighten the purse strings

I got mine from Elite car care. Very strong and sturdy so far.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I'll be honest with you here, for my 2 buckets i paid less then the price of the grit guard  I got 2 sturdy black window cleaners buckets from the local pound shop - they cost 2 quid each - Bargain! And they have a measuring scale embossed on the inside which comes in handy for my ounce of shampoo per gallon of water measurements  :jumpmove:

^^^youve been diddled mate..... £2 each from the pound shop  :surprised:

Once you spend £££'s protecting your pride n joy with a full detail, you try your hardest to prolong the finish and protection, by taking all precautions.
2 proper buckets with gritguards go without saying.

It's a bit like recommending a jumbo car sponge. Yeah it will work, and to the untrained eye you won't notice the damage straight away...
But like I said, to try and keep your car with that "just detailed" look, you will learn to take precautions and use something like a "Wookies Fist"    :star:

Most wash suppliers sell decent enough buckets with guards mike. :happy2:
I would probably try a washshop too. I bought a cheap set off eBay that are very flimsy compared to the ones Adi@DeepshineDetail used when he detailed my car.

Already got 2x wookies fists - check out my posts for finish - my £4 buckets do just fine cheers - it's the grit guard that counts unless your super buckets hold liquid in a proven superior way?   :P  I'd never advise a sponge
