Handling question?
« on: September 02, 2011, 08:12:43 am »
Hi all - I want to make some changes to the handling of my car but dont want to spend thousands . I have heard about WALK , ARB's and springs and just received a quote for all three. All prices include labour and fitting although I will have to pay to go have the GEO done after I assume!!

Eibach Lowering Springs - £321.80 inc parts, labour and VAT
Eibach Front and Rear Anti Roll Bars - £466.44 inc parts, labour and VAT
Whiteline WALK kit - £201.59 inc parts, labour and VAT

Total is 989.83 .

Question is do I need all this or can I get away with just one or two items?

TIA

Hi Pal,

Im pretty certain that if you were to have all 3 jobs done at the same time, you could reduce the labour costs compared to doing the 3 jobs individually?
Im pretty sure the 3 jobs are all linked so in theory would be quicker to do as a oner? Im sure someone with more detailed knowledge will point you in the right direction..

I think you need to shop around, the eibach springs are iirc £120 - £135, fitting should be no more than a couple of hours, admittedly I got mates rates from my mechanic but even at full price he would be charging less than 100 quid for the job.  And if I had the front and rear ARB and WALK it would have been another 50 on top max.

Regarding the parts, ARB's and WALK's crop up in the for sale forum, it might be worth waiting to get a bargain that way...... :happy2:

Agreed, VAG cars are notoriously over sprung and under dampered.  Perhaps you should hang on a go for coil overs?
