Vinyl Cutter/ Printers
« on: September 12, 2011, 04:39:43 pm »
Hi Guys,

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of vinyl cutters?

I'm looking into them as I'd like to start sign writing as part of a tinting unit I will hopefully be setting up next month. I've had a scout around, but they vary in price from £100's to £1000's!

Thanks in advance  :drinking:

Nick

There are always a few Plotters on eBay and the names to look out for are Mimaki and Summa, they are quality plotters. I have sold a couple on eBay before for my old company and the first one was a piece of sh*t and it still got £400. The next one was a Summa Opus Eye tech and it sold for around 4K, the difference in quality was massive though as you would expect from those prices. If you are only cutting plain vinyl then I would not worry about the expensive ones but if you plan on cutting printed contour lines then you will need to fork out for the right tech. The plotter should come with its own cutting software too.

Wow cheers buddy :)

It'd be mainly just simple text and simple logos etc for the side of vans etc.

Would this just require a cheap one?
