Finding a MK5 GTI
« on: September 03, 2011, 11:16:39 am »
Ok, I've recently sold my MK Focus RS, and now my search for a GTI becomes a lot more serious

I'm looking to spend anything up-to £15,000, it has to be low miles (below 20,000 miles, Red / White or Grey, leather interior, 18" Monza's and generally in excellent condition). I've made several tentative enquiries, but seemingly GTi's do not hang around for long. I offered a chap £14,000 for his ED30, 2008 24000 miles, it's advertised @ £15500! For me that's a lot of money, do you agree? Given that MK6 are coming down to £18,000!!

Any suggestions? other than the usual P/Heads / Autotrader, where else can i look?

Thanks

I reckon for a low mileage 2008 well specced ED30 14500-15000 isnt too bad. Thats still £10k depreciation over 3 years and Golfs do have good residuals.

If you could get it for £14500 I would be pretty happy if I was you. Would have to have a few toys on it though.
