Did he try swapping cylinder 4 coilpack with one of the others and re-logging your misfire count?

How much mileage on your present plugs?

Hahaha bloody iPhone! We took the connector of both the end coilpacks as wasn't sure which one is 1 and which is 4. When we took the leads off either 1 the car ran lumpy. It's on 56k on original plugs

Change your plugs first.

Bacillus is right, I'd first swap the coilpacks around and log again.....should have thought of that :ashamed:

The plugs will need to be changed sooner rather than later as he said.

One thing to note is that the boost actual was considerably higher than requested, I put this down to it being mapped? I am about to post the scan results of the car.

No point posting the whole thing, just 1 fault on the engine.

Address 01: Engine

1 Fault Found:
001089 - EVAP Emission Control Sys: Incorrect Flow
               P0441 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent
             Freeze Frame:
                    Fault Status: 00100010
                    Fault Priority: 2
                    Fault Frequency: 29
                    Mileage: 81514 km
                    Time Indication: 0
                    Date: 2000.00.00
                    Time: 23:12:06

             Freeze Frame:
                    RPM: 758 /min
                    Load: 16.1 %
                    Speed: 0.0 km/h
                    Temperature: 87.0°C
                    Temperature: 33.0°C
                    Absolute Pres.: 1000.0 mbar
                    Voltage: 14.097 V

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16825/P0441/001089, fault frequency 29 so there is clearly a problem. However it did not return after a short run and it worked on the output test.

Looks like a fault I read about recently,

I think its the charcoal canister fault, a cause being 'brimming' the tank to the top

VrsCarl mentioned it before

I had that fault code and replaced the charcoal canister, the fault code has never returned. This code should not affect the running of the car, it's just emmisions rubbish.

Yes the logs showed the boost actual was always higher than requested. I can't remember the units but it was 1000 (mBar?) even at idle when it was requesting 400mbar. I think this could be down the remap but somebody with more experience will have to comment.
