GT 140 Diesel brake disc sizes

Hi,

Seems to be lots of choices for disc sizes come up for my 07my gt 140.

I have bought the fronts 288x25

And bought some for the rear 255x10

The rears had a choice of 260x12 but as they are so rusted (and still on the car ) I cant get an accurate measurement.

Can anyone confirm what i've bought is correct? Got a feeling the rears are wrong but parts guy says 255 on the back??

I can measure the ones of mine but It's a 54 plate if that helps

Yes please  , if they are somewhere handy, it's a right pain to try measuring them on the car though. Not sure if i was measuring 2.5mm of rust build up or the actual size, they are so similar 

Do you know if I need to remove the rear caliper carrier? in which case I will need a m14 spline socket?

i will measure them tomorrow as they are at work--you do need to remove the carrier to fit the discs

Do you have the facelift GT?? The one with the GTI front bumper but with different grills? If so the brakes should be the same as what's on the GTI
If so you should have 312mm front and 286mm rear.

Its a 56 registered 07 model year. It has the newer type front end but is badged up as GT not GT sport. Looks like I should be prepared for both to be wrong

They will be 255mm, I have just change mine on an '07' PD140, the 260mm size are on the 4-motion.  The PD170 has the GTi set up, 312mm front, 288mm rear.   

Mine came from - www.eurocarparts.com - with my Briskoda forum discount they were under 23 quid per disc, the part number is: 104441258

Got to get myself the m14 spline socket and i'm good to go

my rear carrier bolts were tight so i put a bar on the end of the ratchet for more leavarage and i also put new bolts back in

When you change the rear discs there's ne need to remove the caliper carriers, a little gentle persuasion and twisting should see them drop out. The new ones go in even easier. The front discs are 288mm, the rears 255mm (2004 GT Tdi 140)

must admit i didn't try and get the disc out that way as i was putting R32 brakes on,worth knowing then
