Iv'e been thinking of selling my car as I hardly ever use it now due to using public transport for commuting. It seems a shame to let it stand there on my drive.

Noticed the price of the MK5 GTI has dropped alarmingly  :sad1:

So I need help with how much to advertise my car for as I don't want to price myself out of a sale or waste mine or anybody else's time.

Here is the spec:

2005 55 plate 5dr tornado red GTI DSG 123,000 miles - paintwork in pristine condition.
dual zone climate control
auto dim rear view mirror
cool box
full heated leather interior is in excellent condition with electric lumbar support
headunit with built in 6 disc changer and i pod connecter
Multi function steering wheel.
auto Xenon lights and wipers

high performance tyres all round
colour coded bumpers red and black
Gloss black wing mirrors, shark fin and R32 rear valance
r-tech stage one remap and DSG gearbox Revo mapped
OSIR front lip
Osir carbon grill
Carbon front badge
Red GTi Badges
Smoked repeaters
Open fog grills
R32 Rear end with full custom stainless steel exhaust
Forge Twintake
Koni coilovers
R32 bigger brake conversion

Long Tax and MOT. FVWSH bar the last two.
Recently had a full service and DSG service at Midland VW.

Mainly motorway miles by previous owner. Car looks like its only done 40-50k

The only optional extras it doesn't have are Sat Nav and Highline dash.

Pics taken before the repeaters went on and I had the front bumper fully resprayed and the gloss black bits done.
I will be removing the Speedlines too as they cost me quite a bit. These will be re-fitted:

Mania Racing Savoy alloys 19"

Let me know what you think.

Many thanks.

And here is the first vulture?

If your interested in putting some OEM wheels on I have some Genuine detroits that I would consider swapping with the Speedlines?

Also is it a VW coolbox? If so I may be interested!

I'm not looking to swap the alloys. I will be putting the 19s on if I sell the car and sell the speedlines separately. The cool box is actually the glovebox with the cooling feature. Not sure if it is called a cool box!

Someone must have an idea of what I can get for it

After spending alot of time looking at cars and prices recently, id guess no more than £7.5k tbh, due to mileage and age. I wouldn't pay that though myself due to mileage! Mods often don't add much value

Dunno if it's an option, can you put back to standard get a decent price then sell off the mod parts which will give you a bit extra???

The coolbox isn't an option then, I thought you meant the one in the boot you can buy.

How much for the wheels then?

Around £6500 seems a fair price, maybe more if someones willing to pay it. Seems like a really nice car. It's just the milage that would put people off IMO. Other than that I can't see any issues with getting around £6500 poss more :happy2:

Thanks for the replies guys. Tbh, the car is mint. You would never know it's done 120k but yes, that would be the downfall for many potential buyers. I've had it a couple of years and, touch wood, nothing has ever gone wrong with it. Not that I'm surprised, a well looked after VW will go on forever. I might keep it as I've spent a lot of money, time and effort making it look different and IMO, loads better than most MK5s I've seen. Plus, even at stage 1 it's pretty fast.

H4rdy, I would only sell the wheels I I sold the car. They make a huge difference to the handling, 0-60 and looks. Lightweight alloys are great  :happy2:

Very tastefully modified  :happy2:

Would be a shame to sell it even though you rarely use it.

Thanks Ed30.  :happy2:  I feel the same way now especially seeing as the price has dropped so low for the Mk5 GTI.
