OK......

So if you can delete it? what was in not manufactured like this?

Will it not cause any running issues at all?

I will get mine ordered soon.. I can drive around for a few months with out a ecu map and it won't go into limp mode?
I was assured by Darkside that an EGR delete was extremely unlikely to cause limp mode.

Thanks for the info :happy2:

They're tuners but they can't map out an EGR delete???  :surprised:

Pagey I think its may be a legal type of problem with S/C.

It doesn't put the car in limp mode has its only showing the EGR has not getting the right flow, but its not controlling the actual engine in any way.

The EGR's purpose is to reduce emissions by recirculating exhaust gas (hence the build up of crud), but without it the emissions are still well within acceptable tolerance's and you don't have the sooty exhaust gases doing a round robin through the engine.......

You could liken it to a remap, if the PD140 engine is capable of 180bhp with just a few software modifications, why doesn't it leave the factory like it?

Answer? To keep the id-yots happy in Brussels!

Regarding the running, it did feel a bit lumpy at idle, that has now stopped as I think it was more to do with the ECU adapting to the remap.

Pagey I think its may be a legal type of problem with S/C.

Just remind again, what's S/C?

Superchips?

Does anyone know if REVO will map out an EGR warning? Funny enough REVO mention in a email to me when I was looking into a decat downpipe that putting a hi flow downpipe with no cat on a 2.0 diesel has seen EGR faults appear.

I'm sure REVO would, mine is Shark'd and they mapped out the EGR prior to sending out the file.

Very interested how you get on with a decat, definitely an option for me.  :innocent:

I didn't think you would need to map out for a de cat as the ecu does not measure exhaust gasses post cat on the 140PD's to know the difference?

Pagey it started has a 140pd yes, the last run on Daves(PDT) rollers it made 207hp & 300ft lb.  Apparently superchips lower the torque to preserve the engine and gearbox...?

Not sure about the CAT delete map but was told it was needed or the emissions light would pop up.

CAT delete maps aren't needed. I fitted a De-Cat to my pd140 earlier this year and it ran fine and no lights or vcds error codes, I've since had a Stage1 map loaded and thats fine with the De-Cat too.  :happy2:
