Not sure about the CAT delete map but was told it was needed or the emissions light would pop up.

CAT delete maps aren't needed. I fitted a De-Cat to my pd140 earlier this year and it ran fine and no lights or vcds error codes, I've since had a Stage1 map loaded and thats fine with the De-Cat too.  :happy2:

Ahh, another Briskodian invader.  Thanks for your input buddy.   :happy2:

These people offer a couple of egr delete kits and it also says they have the ability to switch off the control unit.

And there are some interesting tuning packages for the pd 140 listed too

Hi lads another gt tdi driver do you recommend having this done on the gt 170 it's being remapped and dpf removal, do you think I should get the egr valve deleted ? Get conflicting info ?

I can't speak for the 170, but it has made a difference on my 140, I expect it's a combination of the map as well, but on my 10 mile run to work I was averaging between 42.5 - 47.5 mpg, on Monday I got 52mpg!!  :surprised:  That's a combination on 3-5 minutes on the motorway, and then twisty A roads.

The thing to look at is the EGR, is an efficient bit of kit up to about 30k (normal driving, servicing etc) after that it gets clogged which reduces performance and mpg.  You could whip it off, clean and refit, but if you are going down the route of DPF delete and remap you may as well invest the 70 sheets and get the EGR bypass also.
Something to bare in mind, removing it will increase emissions but they will still be way below the require for UK law.

I was looking at FR tuning, but was put off by reports of shocking customer service and wrong parts supplied, perhaps just an isolated incident, but the boys at Darkside are the nutts.  :happy2:

There is two kits on the website.roadsport and motorsport one.I take it it's the roadsport one I'd need before I order?

If you are you talking about the FR one, then yes, you need the Roadsport one?  If you email Darkside Developments and ask for the delete kit for the 2.0 BKD engine, it's £70 posted from them, and customer service is second to none, they practically talked me through the DIY installation of mine. :happy2:
