RNS510 - Parking Sensors

Hi Guys,

Im sure this question has been asked loads before but I keep reading different answers..

I have just bought a 2008 Eos which has the RCD300 and Im going to either replace this with the RCD510 or RNS510, the car has optical rear parking sensors what will I need to do to be able to have Visual parking sensors on the RCD/RNS510?

Also when I had my 2007 Golf I put in a version B RNS510 as then I wouldnt need to change the canbus for the battery drain issue, as this car is 2008 would I still need version B to not have the battery issue or would version C be ok?

For batteyr drain it is only the can bus version that you need to worry about so with 2008 you should be fine, regardless of the RNS version you buy so an A B or C will not have battery drain issues if you have a K can gateway or newer (apart from some early K software versions)

As for the rear parking sensors you will need to replace the PDC controller with one of the newer OPS controllers that you can get on ebay from car systems for £80 as the old PDC controller wont output the data onto the infotainment can bus system.

How can I tell what can gateway I have in my car then?

I had a look on car systems on Ebay I found he PDC Control Unit with OPS Park Pilot Part no 1Z0 919 475 C is this what Im looking for? It does say 8 sensor as I only have rear sensors would I need to find one that says 4 sensors? Also Is this just a straight swap with the old control unit? And if so where is it located?
