My MkV Jetta , A more OEM Approach
« on: September 09, 2011, 10:25:50 pm »
Please dont think im nuts and im talking to myself ...

Heres my thread from my local forum

Hi Guys

Thought id do a single thread for my jetta build , Only had the car about a month now . Heres my progress

Here is how i brought it

Interior quiet boring !

Paintwork was awful as it was an ex-company car, Nothing a good mop couldnt sort out !

I then got hold a neglected set of these , sanded and fillered them then took them to city powdercoaters (birmingham) only £20 per wheels ! cant reccomend them enough !

Got the tyres Fitted

Also picked these up the same day !

Went about fitting them with my mate

Then we test fitted a wheels and dropped the car with fingers crossed !

Went pretty low ...

I also lamin-x the front fogs while it was up at eye level , Very happy with the results

This is how the car was looking

I then did a few more little mods like de-Plate the front (currently waiting for grille without holes lol , Carbon wrapped the tatty pillars and carbon wrapped the steering wheel inlays

Well thats it so far !

Ill keep you updated

Took a few pics today after a good polish , enjoy !

Right then people been a while since ive updated this ! anyway as im sure your aware i had a run in with a p reg astra a few weeks back and smashed the front end of the jetta up :( Anyway i see it as an excuse to get some custom modding done .

Having a new bonnet , bumper , grille , headlights , front panel , etc etc

Im having the badgeless grille and having the proper bonnet notch fillered and painted

filling out the rub strips on the new bumper for a smooth look

also ordered these lights which came today

and heres the grille im going for ...

any ideas are welcome and i will keep you posted

Crikey! I didn't think I was going to like this but everything works really well together and the lowered stance makes a huge difference. Proppa limo!  :happy2:

Be careful not to over do it - It's very subtle. Mods like brakes and ARB's would be a good idea now <-- Definitely if you remap.

I've got those exact same lights!

seeing as you brought them recently, could you tell me what the method of securing the bulb to the headlight is? is it still that gay twisty mechanism or is it a springy clip? (HID kits drop in very very well into those projectors!)

nice tidy motor fella!

Love jetta'sand yours looks great :happy2:

What specs are your wheels? If you don't mind?

Keep it up, very interested in seeing how this is turning out.
I know what you mean about spending money on it if you don't need too.
