« on: September 10, 2011, 09:28:10 pm »
Guys, I've had a search of wich has helped me out BUT I want a honest answer of someone that's using it already as I believe it's getting more popular!

Is it worth it??!! The cost of a kit is around £300 for devils own I am planing on going stage 2+ (2008 ed30)
I won't bother if I get a increase of around 8bhp  :signLOL:
Any help would be greaaaatttt!

i remember as well reading somewhere else that gains are comparable to fitting a decent CAI. i've tried searching for it but i can't find it. if i come across it i'll post.

I run a snow performance stage 3 kit with 7 gallon tank in the boot, definitely a noticeable gain in power and well worth it imo.

James will be able to give a better explanation of the benefits/gains as mine isn't set-up to it's full potential at the moment.

i have been playing with mine running 50/50 60/40 70/30 and 100% meth

100% meth is epic! lol but i now run 70/30.

i get around 60/70BHP from it due to me running loads of advance timing.  :drinking:

The car needs to be mapped to it  :happy2:

The main benefits are that it cools inlet charge and cylinder temps, allowing you to run more boost/timing.

Water is better at cooling the inlet charge and methanol is superior in the cylinders, plus it also boosts octane. This is why people run a mix, although some run a small % of methanol to stop water freezing in cold conditions.

I have it fitted but atm its just spraying water. The reason being is methanol is highly toxic and I don't particularly want to store something so flammable in large quantities.
When my car was mapped, it was done with the WO off(not what I asked for), so when its on, it actually loses around 8bhp as you have to lean off the mixture when spraying and this hasn't been done as yet.

but burns at 70/30.

Just remember that aluminium and methanol are not best buddies...
