Monza Refurb down South?
« on: August 13, 2011, 11:20:25 pm »
Does anyone know any good wheel specialists that will take the white worm out of my life and give me back lovely polished Diamond Cut 18 inch Monza's?

I have asked this before and the only good answer was a company in Crawley but when I called them they refused to quote me saying that they had stopped offering that service as they could not guarantee the results.

I preferably want to use a company that uses chemical treatment and not heat.

Cheers

Thats a real shame if wheelworks in crawley won't do diamond cut alloys as they are only 6 miles from me! Have you tried lepsons in kent?

Mine are ok at the moment (apart from slight white worm round the wheel nut holes on two of them), but I was toying with idea of getting them all redone next spring with new tyres, might have to get them done anthracite instead.

Visited lepsons when I lived in Gillingham, highly praised outfit.

Id like to go black on my Monza's( matt, gloss, never sure what looks or cleans up better).

A1 wheels always pops up when people want it done but there in Wolverhampton, Im inbetween Worthing & Camberley so Lepsons is the nearest that does a good job I hear!

Has anyone seen a pic on here of a black GTI with Anthracite Monza's? A selection of colours would be good to see on a black car, I could photoshop it myself but it wouldn't be a true representation.

I see that they are about £240 to get polished up.

Wheel works at Crawley , They sent the wheels to lepsons to be  diamond turned , I guess they cant make any money from just offering the service so have now stopped doing it

I'm in the same boat as you I kerbed one of my monza shadows the other day :ashamed: I spoke to lepsons very helpful guy they want £68+vat for a refurb but they are  55 miles from horsham so thats two trips one to take it there, one to collect a week later so 220 miles of fuel!! So I spoke to wheelworks in crawley they will refurb polished monzas (lepsons pick up from wheelworks wednesday and fridays and do the refurb for them) and wheelworks charge £85+vat. So I'm dropping of my damaged wheel to wheelworks tomorrow and will report back once its all done.

I've seen some done by a chap in Wickford, Essex who paints them with anthracite inserts and silver faces. Looked really good, and no more white worm. Must say I was tempted as the finish is excellent. (if you don't want polished)

Just got my wheel back from wheelworks in crawley today, very impressed with the results a little expensive at £85+vat but as I previously mentioned saved me two trips to lepsons themselves.
I can recommend wheelworks they were honest and up front with me from the start that they don't do diamond cut wheels and it would be lepsons doing the work. I have however seen the work that they do at crawley and was very impressed. So if your in the sussex area and maidstone is to far to travel give wheelworks a try I found their service excellent.

There's a really good place in Southampton that does the diamond cut finish. We just sent a set of M3 alloys off to them with White worm and kerbing and they've come back like brand new. Can't remember the company but it's on my desk at work.....
