Fair Offer - Edition 30
« on: September 12, 2011, 07:21:53 pm »
All,

I'm going to see a VW GTI - Edition 30 on Wednesday, and the car is marked up at £15500. It's 2008, clocked 24000 miles, Red, Manual, 3 Owners, Sat Nav, Xenons, in-fact when new it would of cost just shy of £25,000.  It was last serviced in August 2010, but apparently this was a long-life VW service. Does this run true? Additionally, it has Michelins all-round, 4/5mm. Discs and pads haven't been replaced, are are supposedly like new. One Alloy has minor damage, and it has 2-3 stone chips on the bonnet. Now, I've done my research and AutoTrader value this car up-to £14500. It needs tax, so that's £250 for starters if i buy the car.

I was thinking of an offer around £14,400. Is that reasonable given the options / condition?

He's already declined £14250 ( i asked my brother to phone up  :happy2:).

Let me kw your thoughts. :happy2:

I don't want to pay no more than £14500.

3 owners indeed. He bought it from FA Roper in Brentford in 2009.

Id go in the same price as your brother, make him think thats more the value and if he declines, explain that is what you would value it at and to contact you if he wants to sell.

It's never worth £15500. I can buy a MK6 on a 59 for £17995.

I will use the negatives in my favour.

I brought my ed30 back in july. On an 08 plate , 1 owner , 18000 miles and a full vw service history for £14500 after knocking him down £250. His price of £15500 is way too much lol.

I also forgot to mention it's under warranty until April 2012. Would i need to contact VW and let them know i am the new owner? :happy2:

There are plenty of sub 30k edition 30's for a lot less than 15K.  You can get a pirelli edition being sold by a member on here for about 12.5k i'd buy that.
