Certainly was mate, and this one is of you and me last year before you started getting thin on top and before your laser eye surgery!  :P

 :signLOL:

I must say I did prefer your comb over before you shaved it all off.......  :signLOL:
Yeah I know mate but it just got to high maintenance and it had to go! I suppose I had to face reality, unlike TC who is hiding his under his tossy bobble! :signLOL:

How the hell does every topic go off topic on here?

The information is basically correct.

Have no idea why people are hating it? Its basically a suitably powered diesel with styling cues taken from the GTI.

hate, too strong a word for me. still can't get my head around the golf MK5.5 MK6, it's the styling....but as we're talking engine/mpg and if those figures are true...

..i just don't think it's good enough  :chicken: could do better with what they have to hand in the current parts bin imho. in a new car i would say people like to see new tech and approaches to the way the car performs, they've just reshelled a medeocre engine and reworked the plastics around the car

making the MK6 MK7 appearing on the not too distant horizon more of a reality

Not for me im afraid. If your gonna make a diesel make it hot, 168 BHP is just not enough. You can buy a MKV GT Sport with the same power and it looks better. I just don't get it. I wish they would bring something out like the MK4 Anni Diesel, that was awesome

^^ agreed, needed more effort putting in to make people WANT one rather than have it merely as a choice with others, buying it new would be so uneconomical unless a part of a fleet... and that doesn't happen that often either as the running costs of other marques are cheaper

car would need to be hotter, or cheap

the money should have been spent on further blue motion

It's a Golf GT Diesel, much as currently already exists with the Golf V GTs.
The GTI/GTI-R are petrol only beasties and "halo" cars.

Because they are vile things, bereft of soul and scorned by man.

They offer such different things, have never understood why people dislike them so much, you cant compare diesel to petrol.

Because I love beer, do I have to hate vodka?  :rolleye:

^^^^

:signLOL:

And also because I always think that a diesel driver is someone who is primarily led by money and not any love for their car.

I'm led by my companies strict 145g/km limit as we're being "eco friendly"

Diesels aren't spirited enough to be "fun", mine is sadly just a mile cruncher

....Funny you should say that - I love vodka and spirits and hate beer and wine.

But a dislike of diesel isn't rational or really justifiable - It's simply how I feel. It's like I don't like the Prius Pious.

But anyway, nothing important enough for us to fall out over  :grouphug:
