Hi guys, I have a single skin breeze block utility room extension built onto my kitchen.
As it is feckin feezin in the winter and the pipes froze on the washer/dishwasher have just spent a few hundred £ on insulation, silver backed plasterboard and plaster.
The units on the doublde glazed glass have also failed - my question is how much difference will it make to keeping the heat in/cold out if these units for failed? Have been quoted over £600.00 to replace them and not sure whether makes more sense to simply save up enough to have new frames/doors throughout the whole house as the frames are lookin a bit tired anyway. On other hand seems a waste of time to insulate the walls/ceiling if all the heat will still escape through the windows?
Any thoughts?
Cheers.
