Won't let me transfer music to RNS.

Updated my firmware a couple of weeks ago. Tried to copy music from my SD card onto hard drive but it's not working, recognises the card ok but when I select 'Copy', it flashes up with the 'Copying...' screen for about 2 seconds then disappears and nothings been copied.  :confused:

Used to be able to do this without trouble.

Also, tried to delete an individual song already on the hard drive and says something like 'This audio file cannot be deleted'.  :confused:

Any ideas on how to solve this?  :smiley:

Anybody help please before my RNS gets it.  :fighting:

Should also mention that it was updated to 276X firmware, also tried to load the version 6. something disc, the one that shows the petrol stations etc. couldn't manage to do that either.

In the hidden menu, theres an option called SW downgrade, does this mean software downgrade?

If your trying to delete a song on the HDD you can't do it if it's the only song or it's currently being played. If it's not either of those then something else is amiss

The SW Downgrade option will allow software downgrade but you can also force it using Setup, Eject & I (or mic symbol button)

If you look at the tutorial thread i did there are a couple of links for erasing the Map & Music partitions of the HDD.

You could also try to upgrade to 130X firmware. This doesn't support voice control for the Nav but unless you have wired in a mic to VC the nav then i wouldn't bother.

130X is newer than 276X as it is basically 280X but minus VC.

Have tried everything but still failed to sort out the copying/deleting music issue.  :sad1:

Tried the following things: firmware 1300, HDD format, SWL recovery disc.

None of the above will get rid of the music files

Currently running on 1300 and v 7.2  maps. All original music still remains on the hd, not budged at all.

Seems like the hd is locked or something, will not let me to put music on or take any off.

Any ideas please?

When you go into the test menu what does it say in the HDD status report?

I am surprised that the HDD Format disc didn't delete everything. The Drive is obviously not locked as you can copy maps to it. I'm just wondering if somehow your MP3 Partition has been locked but i can't see how.

Not saying your being a numpty or anything but you are trying to delete off the HDD and not off an SD Card? :laugh:

I run an earlier 268x with no issues whatsoever, with Voice control on my Skoda Bluetooth, i know yours has a Parrot setup, so wouldnt be a problem.

Others have had to downgrade to FW 1100/1200 to actually wipe everything off click
