Spottled paintwork
« on: September 15, 2011, 07:45:51 pm »
Hi chaps,

Recently Iv noticed kind of a spottled effect on the paintwork after Iv cleaned the car. I have no idea what it is / where it comes from. My usual wash method is jetting it off, foamed, wash with 2BM, super resin polish and waxed it with meguires random stuff but recently got some dod juice which iv used once. Im debating if its the polish / old wax on the paintwork! Any ideas how to remove it / what it is? Iv tried to get pictures but it doesnt show!

Reflex silver car by the way!

Cheers

Any pics? Bit difficult to guess what you mean by "spottled" - it's not a recognised English word!

Do you dry the car after rinsing?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Il try and get a picture next time i do it. It kinda looks like small patches of lighter and darker paint over the panel. (I never new spottled wasnt a proper word!  :signLOL: Il replace it with patchy!)

sounding like it could be water marks. Towel drying the car will help to avoid this.

*edit* though i see from another thread that you do towel dry your car so scratch the above!
