Removing the top?
« on: September 16, 2011, 10:51:48 pm »
quick one, when removing the top (below) what the best way without braking any clips........should you remove/pull the TOP part first (air vent)...or start by the radio end (two small pins sticking out)

Broke these pins twice now  :jumping:

I use something to wedge in between the vent and the radio just to pop it up a bit and they go around the top of the vent and unclip it.

It is a PITA

Been going around the top (vent) first....then just pulling up on the radio part  :happy2: will give it a go other way round

I am sure the front locator pins almost swivel slightly so I lifted from the back near the screen and moved up and foward towards the gear stick in a circular motion like pulling a lid off the old metal biscuit tins.
Went in for a Landy came out with a GTI, mid life crysis? me :-)
