Water in Mirror Indicator Lights
« on: March 31, 2009, 09:35:07 pm »
Wondered if anyone else had this problem.

I have water and what looks like a bit of algae in my mirror indicator lights. Car is only a 2007!

Wouldnt this be covered in my warranty?

Never come across this.

On the, er bright side, it's an excuse to get tinted indicators!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Sounds to me like the seal's faulty and moisture is getting into the lense, which is causing the problem.  I'm not sure whether this would be covered under warranty, but I don't see why it shouldn't be if there's no visable damage to it

as jim said, yep....the seals gone somehow! i would get them to swap it on warranty before the moisture does any further damage

Hi Pazz,

Mines booked in today for exactly the same problem!

Mine too is an 07', drivers side mirror indicator lens.

Basically, there seemed to be moisture visible in the lens & the indicator bulbs worked intermitently...... with the occasional weak flash.

Just had a call to say they have replaced the indicator unit under warranty :happy2:

Get yours booked in!
