Lumbar adjustment not working...
« on: September 10, 2011, 08:52:48 pm »
My friend is having some problems with his seats in his GT.  They are heating up but the lumbar support isn't working...anyone got any ideas?

Mine didn't work when I bought the car (you can't check everything, can you?)

The fuse was missing - not just blown.  I replaced it with the correct rating, and no problems since.

Shadow blue DSG 5 door with leather, sunroof, 18" Monzas, MFSW.
Full list of mods:  Seat inserts and a VW bottle opener.  Each worth 20bhp.

Ours wasn't work in out car either (again, didn't check everything)  You could hear it motoring up and down but it wouldn't inflate!  We ended up having it changed under warranty as it wasa whole new motor unit.  Not cheap i'm affraid!

Has it worked before Sarah? if so is the wire underneath still plugged in? it could also be a faulty set of buttons.

It's in my friends car.  It seems to work intermittently, he has managed to adjust it again but it has since stopped working.

It worked when he bought the car but broke shortly after, he had to have the wires re-earthed and he's not had any issues with it for 9 months or so since it was fixed until now.

Hope it's not the motor unit!
