Impulz's MKV 1.9 TDi ... black!
« on: September 18, 2011, 05:43:54 pm »
Well.... i have been waiting to collect it from the VW dealer for about 2 weeks now so was very glad to get it finally!

definitely an upgrade from the 1.1 pug! haha!  :P      :driver:

Here is a few pics after i had driven it around a little while and finally decided i would stop and take some lol!

for that reason... excuse the dirt ;)

Cheeky reflexion shot- can see what the fascination with black cars and reflections is already! haha!

Just waiting for a final few mods from my 106 to sell then will be:-

- Lowering with Eibach Sportline 45/35mm springs
- Bonnet Bra
- MK6 Boot Badge
- OEM Volkswagen Alloys
- Retrofit AUX connection
- look into interior tweaks

well, tis all for now.

thanks

James

Looks like a good base to start from!

Indeed, shame the owner had basically gone for bare minimum on the inside- not even a decent set of clocks which would tell me my MPG  but should see that change in time.

Enjoy

Thanks!

Parts Already Arrived/Ordered :-

Bonnet Bra
Mk4 Badge (will paint old one graphite grey with black one over top)
SPAX 40mm springs
cheeky sticker for rear window
cheeky black&white dice for dustcaps haha!

am on holiday next week- so i imagine soon after that i shall have some nice updates!

I also look forward the mods

well, so far blew my money on the things mentioned above- though with Christmas a few months away would seem a nice time to save up some pennies and soon next year get hold of whatever i can afford.

to be honest- the alloys seem to be one of the priciest things i can be after, compared to my 106 where i picked up 2 or 3 sets of alloys for ~£50 and were in semi decent condition. VW alloys seem to fetch more like 150-250 in sh!te condition, really baffles me!!! lol!!

Finally sold off all my 106 mods, so purchased a few little bits for the VeeDub!

Cheeky VW crown sticker put in my Rear view, will look out for other suitable stickers which are both nice, neat and amusing... recommendations welcome!

Bonnet bra fitted and came in handy for my drive to cornwall on a late holiday trip, although car certainly needs a good wash/wax/polish!!

another thing i hadn't considered was a badgeless grill expecting them to be £50+ like most things VW, but to my surprise a mere £20 meant i have one of those now,
which is fitted but needs to be taken back off for spraying and finishing off.. and while i am at it, will rub down rear boot badge and work on that with the MK4 Black badge on top

SPAX 40mm springs ready to go on, just need to find time to get her booked in to have it done, cant be bothered with DIY  :indifferent:

De-badge rear if there are no holes behind the letters i assume?

should be at a stage where i am happy with it then, although i am considering 16" steelie wheels rather then alloys, simply due to price and being a poor young man....
will be able to make a small claim to a euroish look with them, although it will never be anything compared to euro- not enough money for that either... :)

updates with pics once springs are on and she has been washed!

Update:

-De-Letter Rear

-Started Stickering Rear Window

-Bonnet Bra & Badgless Grill

Picture of my boot badge.... pure fail that VW can't make them without this kind of thing happening... will rub it down best i can and paint it same colour as car.

comments welcome as always.

cheers

Ebay mate - link :- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vw-badge-crown-sticker-golf-polo-lupo-corrado-scirocco-sticker-bomb-dub-sticker-/320759879101?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aaec755bd#ht_500wt_1180

seen a few i like, but this one stood out.. need a few others to make a look of it rather then a random one or 2...

Yeah that looks mint mate,
took mine off and sanded down, but ran out of paint doing the grill so left it for now.

considering just spraying it all black rather then the outlines like you did, nice work none the less!
