If you are out of warranty then there are far better oils out there than the vw grade stuff.  The engines don't have to run on it.

The quantum stuff is a very 'budget' oil tbh.  On par with comma, carlube etc.

I will only use Millers I'm my car and its what we use in all customers cars inc the lambos.  It costs us twice as much as the quantum stuff too.

I would get on opie oils site and order the Millers xf 5w30 longlife if you want longlife oil, or get the cfs 5w40 competition stuff (what I use in mine).

Will it be ok to use for a few thousand miles? My car is on 36k and needs servicing at 39k.

As its just fully synthetic 5w 40 then it will be fine for a few thousand k's.

Tbh most oil in the tfsi's smell a little of fuel.  Nothing to worry about.  If it really stinks and the oil level is rising then the pump seals are shot.

Ok thanks for your advice Alex. If you could drop me a PM with a quote for a 39K service please that would be great, (probably be start of december)

If the seals have gone, is it a new pump or are the seals available seperatly? I don't think the oil level is rising, i had to put about 1/5th L in the other day.

Thanks again.

Rich

I will try and get some prices tomorrow for you.

If the pump seals are shot then its a new pump.  :(

Booo hiss...  :sad1:

If you could get a price for one of those too that would be superb (just so it doesn't come as a complete blow in the face)
