Air bag light after changing radio
« on: September 21, 2011, 10:11:41 am »
hi,

I've changed the stereo in my car from a rcd 300 to a rcd 500 last night and now i've got an airbag light on the dash....

Any ideas why and how i get it to go off?

Thanks

You'll need the code clearing with VCDS!

I'm guessing that you had the ignition on at some point whilst you had the top part of the dash off.

Thank you, I've sent a few messages out so fingers crossed.

Can't believe VW wanted £84 to turn a light off!

where are you based?

Mine did this after having my headunit out last weekend. 5 mins with vagcom and it was all sorted.

Had it done now, Mr Morty sorted it out in about 30 seconds.

Dealers are robbing bar stewards.

That's not a bad bit of kit though on ebay for the money.
