Stage 2 Question
« on: September 22, 2011, 07:01:03 pm »
Just after some info really. Originally was only going to go stage 1 but managed to pick up a cold air induction and was just wondering if its just downpipe and decat left to go stage 2? Or would a cat back system or intercooler be required?

Also what sort of power would it sit at? 260ish? Is a Gti 2006, ko3.

you will need a downpipe/sports cat(200cell) to get to stage 2.

no need for catback or induction.

260ish yes

Is there any issues with getting downpipe and decat instead? I know on the 1.8t engines people used to have alsorts of issues. I ran sports cat on my old ibiza but thought people have ran decats on the 2.0t without issues, obviously once mapped out.

for stage 2+ yes.

if im honest id do what i did, downpipe/intake/hpfp then stage 2+

Then worry about getting intercooler and what not later on.

You have

APR afaik £600+

autotech which are 300ish

the apr is a whole new fuel pump which is tested and upgraded

the autotech is just internals which your installer will have to fit (i did it myself)

They sometimes sell on here, or at awesome gti, PDT usually has some

they have hardware differences other than the hpfp.

You dont need it for stage 2 but theres a massive dip in power mid range compared to 2+ that i just didnt want.
