Sorry... not been on here in ages so just looking back at the progress and feeling pretty happy with myself :)

Recognition needs to go to R-Tech for many hours helping to sort out the remap as it had a few problems after my first map with another company, and also to Ed at APS for sorting and fitting the suspension which feels awesome.

What a difference 20 months and £5655 makes  :scared: :surprised:

Anyway also looking through my recent posts and I have put bits in other threads so just copying a few pics here so its all in one place.

Detailed the car

Smoothed and wrapped my number plate plynth

Didn't realise how hard wrapping was. Took 2 attempts and its not perfect but it's as close as I can get it for now.

Colour coded the rear badge / handle

Taped up for painting

Primed

Painted

And the badge in black

Both lacquered

Complete

Installed my audison bit ten DRC in the ash tray

And the lid closes :)

Dead chuffed :)

Got the stealth sub build finished.

And the finished car....

Due to the fact I was a bit bored yesterday and because I'm thinking of selling so just getting all the bits together and in order, I actually worked out the cost as new and what the cost of all the options were... (yes I know... I'm a geek!)

Spec and price as new.

Basic car OTR, 3dr DSG GTi - £20,982
18" Monza 2 alloys - £445 (no longer on the car and sold. now running 19" BBS)

DVD Nav system inc highline dash / arm rest / 6cd changer - £1845 (nav removed and sold, 6cd arm rest in place but not connected. now running RCD510DAB)
Bi-Xenon lights - £725
Full Leather seats inc heated seats - £1645 (now swapped for ED30 heated seats)
Electric folding and auto dimming mirrors - £180
Rear Parking Sensors - £295
Multifunction Steering Wheel - £375 (now swapped for MK6 GTi Multifunction wheel)
Electric Glass Sunroof - £495
Winter Pack - £200

Total - £27,457

Extras added since new and how the car currently sits.

ED30 Look
ED30 front splitter / side skirts / rear lower bumper / red stitched hand brake / red stitched golf ball dsg gear shifter - £unknown, added by previous owner.
ED30 3dr Interior - £500
ED30 Dark Rear lights - £135
MK6 GTI DSG Multifunction red stitched steering wheel - £300
'CH' steering controller - £115
OSIR GT metal DSG shifters - £45
Genuine BBS CH 19x8j - £500
New Conti sport contact 5P 225/35/19 - £630
Respray bonnet and bumper and wings (wings replaced under warranty)- £650

Power and Handling
Milltek cat back non res exhaust - £300
R-Tech Stage 1 remap - £290
H&R lowering Springs - £300 fitted
H&R rear 24mm Solid ARB - £200 fitted
Whiteline Anti-Lift Kit - £120

ICE
RCD510DAB headunit - £230
Latest CANBUS - £75
AUX 3.5mm input - £25
JL XD400/4 amp - £290
Hertz HSK163 speakers - £360
JL 10W3V3-4 Sub - £150
Custom Sub Enclosure - £160
Misc ICE wiring and sound deadening - £100
Audison Bit Ten - £180

Total - £5655 (Although to be fair i sold bits like the pescara wheels, leather interior, oem steering wheel etc so hasn't actually cost me that much in cash... but then getting the ED30 bodykit bits with the car FOC prob saved about £1k)

Finally got my wheels refurbed lol. Been meaning to do it ever since I bought them second hand but just never got round to it. But after hitting a big pot hole recently and bending one very slightly I decided to get them all done.

Just stuck with the same colour / finish I already had. Satin black with a silver rim painted on. Painted the bolts satin and bought new bbs centre caps as well :)

Thanks to my mate for lending me his spare monzas while mine were away. Actually grew to like the look of them

The finished wheels

Awesome car!

I must ask though, why did you swap the LC6 for the Bit Ten?
I'm trying to collect together all the parts for an audio install but I want to keep my RNS510 so I have been told to get a line out converter. Then I was told to get an LC6i and now a dealer has suggested a Bit Ten. Or, to put it another way, I have 3 options, one is £50, one is £150 and the Bit Ten is £300 so is it worth it?

In a short answer.... the bit ten is much better than the LC6i.

The bass is much deeper and more natural and you can set up time delays for the speakers with the bit ten.

I spent a decent amount on new speakers and amps etc but they didnt really come alive until the bit ten was installed.

Thanks for the reply.......as luck should have it, I managed to win a Bit Ten one on eBay for £126,  so I'm more than happy with that as long as it turns up that is.
I'm planning on installing everything at the end of next week. I want to put my amp under the passenger seat, so I need to find a place for the Bit Ten.....will I need access to it or can you do everything remotely with a laptop?

My bit ten was also about that price from ebay.

I put the bit ten under the driver seat and the display in the ash tray. Once set up you dont need to get to the main box so under the seat is fine. The extra display is very handy as you can adjust the sub level.

Yeah, I did think about putting the Bit Ten under the drivers seat but my BT hands free kit is there, hence why I need to find somewhere else.
It's not a problem, it's a challenge. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Plus, I'm with Maxitrol, how does the sub sound?
