....

Those high gloss deep black backs to Nathan's Recaros will suit his glossy deep black car extremely well though.

....I'll be posting pics of them re-upholstered in Interlagos but they won't be done until June. Methinks I better make sure it's in time for Inters.

if you don't mind me asking, how much is a retrim (on average)

i was looking at the leather recaro's and see they don't wear well and so if i had picked a set up would like to sort out the side bolsters (but not sure what to and how)

....You'd best ask a professional coachbuilder/upholsterer. Leather will be more than cloth and it depends on the extent of what you want done.

If you are up north, check out MJ Interiors and do say I recommended him (Micheal).

Good luck trying to find some GTI/R32 Recaros!

....

I've just had a PM from Joe who supplied me with the first (unsatisfactory) sample and he's naturally disappointed in my comments in this thread.

I think it only fair to reiterate that although I was naturally very disappointed in what Joe sent me and my comments were sharp, I did not and do not really feel that he was in any way trying to con me and in fact, in his own way, he was trying to help me. Hopefully though, my initial reaction to being offered what is clearly not Interlagos and at £90 a metre, is understandable when I was offered the genuine article by MJ. The £90 price appears to be due to a third party supplier who I won't bother to name.

With the exact science of hindsight it would have saved both of us disappointment if Joe had not sent me the sample as it was so far removed from the Mk5 Interlagos design.

This should in no way reflect badly on Joe's ability to execute good work and it certainly is not my intention to trash his reputation.

Time to move on..........

Red Robin saw  your carbon covered seat backs elsewhere on the web. They look great  . Are you pleased with result/quality ?

Very pleased with the quality, thanks :happy2:

It's really the combination of the seat backs with the door and dashboard trims in matching carbon vinyl which make the seats look stock. When the Interlagos cloth is sewn on, the coordination will be complete.
