Is this the same Daily Mail who went out on a limb and predicted snow this winter?
This is all nonsense- it is nothing to do with economic benefits at all. They have been told by the EU to change the speed limit to the equivalent of 130km/h, to get us 'more into line' with Europe. That way when they come to force kms on us, to replace our 'out-dated' system of using Imperial Measurements, it will be an easier switch. They will just say 'your 80mp/h is the same as 130km/h, which just so happens to be used in most of Europe....so it's a slight change, and more convenient for all'. So yet again our elected politicians are told what to do by their European masters, and they haven't the guts to tell them to take a hike.
